The visible image stays recognizable, but the file is re-encoded as JPEG. Transparent areas are composited onto white, and JPEG’s lossy encoding may affect fine detail. The change is about format and encoding—not an automatic resize.
JPG and JPEG use the same image format. The shorter .jpg extension became common because older systems often used three-letter extensions; .jpeg is also valid. Use this PngExport page when a form or workflow asks for a .jpeg file. If you specifically need .jpg, use the separate JPG converter.
Some forms, apps, and workflows specifically ask for a .jpeg filename. This converter creates that extension.
